The purchasers of Alan Joyce's waterfront estate in Mosman have successfully sold their current residence for a staggering $1 million above the anticipated selling price before the auction.

David Hannon, an experienced professional in the finance industry, and Sonja Holm, a retailer specializing in furniture and homewares at Home & Clan, enlisted the help of Geoff Smith, the principal at Ray White Lower North Shore, to sell their luxurious six-bedroom mansion located at 3 Julian St, Mosman. The property was listed with a price tag of $16 million.

It is known that the property has been purchased by a family residing in the affluent northern part of the city for around $17 million, which is a significant amount above the estimated value and before the planned auction set for next Tuesday.

Smith had arranged private viewings for 20 potential buyers before the sale.

The upcoming auction for the house on Julian St was scheduled for next Tuesday.

Last month, the highlighted property was the Mosman House of the Week.

The luxurious estate, built in the style of the Hamptons, is situated on a large piece of land in the prestigious area of Mosman. It boasts a total of seven bathrooms and enough space to accommodate seven cars. Notably, it is one of the few properties in the exclusive neighborhood that faces north, offering stunning views. Additionally, the property includes a pool and a tennis court, adding to its appeal.

Smith and his associate, David Gillan, successfully sold the Musgrave St waterfront residence which belonged to Alan Joyce, the departing Qantas CEO, and his spouse Shane Lloyd. The sale price, which took place in late July, amounted to approximately $21 million.

The property was introduced to the market in early July, initially priced at $20 million. They had purchased it a bit over a year ago for $19 million but never occupied it.

Last month, the Hannon-Holm property was showcased as the House of the Week in the Mosman Daily.

With a magnificent view of Middle Cove, this grand family property is located on a spacious 1353 square meters of land. The estate is enveloped by well-maintained gardens featuring mature trees, a recently refurbished tennis court, a swimming pool, and grassy lawns.

It boasted several living spaces.

And ample room for a variety of entertainment choices.

Renovated from 2009 to 2010, the Julian St house showcases an abundant layout spanning around 600sq m of internal living area and high-end touches throughout its three spacious levels.
