Research indicates that approximately 50% of workers in the United Kingdom would utilize ChatGPT as an aid to compose their resumes and employment application letters.

According to a recent study conducted by Kaspersky, 42% of individuals expressed the belief that OpenAI's widely-used chatbot has the potential to enhance or polish their portfolios, enabling them to distinguish themselves from others in their field.

Earlier this year, a business proprietor confessed that his hiring staff had unknowingly proposed it for a job interview subsequent to its utilization in fulfilling an application assignment.

According to Kaspersky's investigation, a significant majority of employees (58%) are employing generative AI tools as a time-saving measure while working. These tools come in handy for tasks like condensing lengthy documents and meetings into succinct summaries.

These functionalities are being integrated directly into popular workplace applications such as Microsoft's Outlook and Teams.

However, a significant 40% of individuals admitted to not verifying the AI's results prior to utilizing it, whereas only a mere third confirmed doing so, despite recognizing the established likelihood of inaccuracies in this advanced technology.

'It is important to exercise caution'

Kaspersky stated that the findings, derived from a study of 1,000 individuals who work full-time, exhibited the significance of acquainting job seekers and employers with the growing accessibility of AI technology.

The main security investigator, David Emm, cautioned: "Individuals searching for employment must exercise caution when utilizing ChatGPT because, even though it may assist them in acquiring their ideal job temporarily, their efforts to exaggerate may result in complications.

When it comes to recruiters, exercise caution and don't be fooled by an impressive resume or cover letter. Be sure to conduct thorough background checks and thoroughly evaluate potential candidates during the hiring process to avoid any future disappointments.

Additionally, Mr. Emm emphasized the importance of providing training to employees regarding data security. This will help in avoiding situations where valuable or private data is unintentionally disclosed to chatbots, as they heavily rely on user input for their learning and improvement.

Following a distinct investigation conducted by RM Technology, an education technology company, it was discovered that a significant proportion of educators claim to frequently receive assignments generated by artificial intelligence.

Approximately 10% confessed that they are unable to distinguish between them, while 33% stated that it is crucial for the government to regulate their usage.

The upcoming event, led by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, will bring together international leaders to discuss the regulation of artificial intelligence.
