Qualcomm AI Research Director Joins 2.5 Geeks LIVE

Cloud computing

Artificial intelligence is now common and found in many places. But how does it work on low-power devices like phones? Can we use it for things like generative AI and machine learning on devices that don't use a lot of power? Let's see what Qualcomm is doing to make personal AI technology better.

Dave, Marco, and Chris had a special livestream where they talked about AI. They had a guest named Dr. Joseph Soriaga. He works for Qualcomm AI Research. They discussed AI in phones and other devices. They talked about the future of AI.

Dr. Soriaga talked about Qualcomm's AI Research team and taught us about AI words like quantization. He told us how AI models are being made to run on the edge. He showed us two demos on a mobile phone. The first demo was a super resolution upscaler (QSRNet) for gaming. It made a 540p input look like a 4K frame. The second demo was a Stable Diffusion model running on the handset. He answered questions from the audience.

The section is about a podcast episode on the topic of AI research. The episode covers various aspects of AI research such as how AI has impacted mobile user experiences, natural voice assistant interactions, generative AI models, and bringing AI to low power/edge devices. The speakers also discuss AI lingo, NN model optimization, and AI ethics. They demonstrate a gaming demo and stable diffusion on mobile live demo. The speakers answer questions on the possibility of mid-tier phones using super resolution, and their personal interests in AI research. They conclude by thanking the listeners for tuning in.
