Commonwealth Bank

NCBA Loop unveiled a significant upgrade to their application earlier this year. The introduction of these fresh characteristics has transformed Loop into a neobank.

Digital platforms are often vulnerable to attacks, and it seems that NCBA Loop users are currently facing a phishing attempt via email from unknown sources. People are sharing this information as a warning to others.

Phishing involves using dishonest emails, messages, advertisements, or websites that resemble the ones you normally use, in order to acquire your personal information or access your online accounts. An illustration of this is when an email that seems to have come from your bank asks you to provide confidential details about your bank account.

People who have accounts with NCBA in Kenya and utilize the NCBA Loop application have received an email similar to this.

The electronic message states: "Hello valued customer, you are currently using your account on multiple electronic devices, which could lead to its deactivation. You must go to your closest branch to resolve this matter. Alternatively, you can limit access to unrecognized devices by following the prompts provided."

The message is likely to cause alarm and motivate individuals to take action. NCBA cautions clients that the email did not originate from their financial institution.

Of Suspicious Transactions

The financial institution announced through replies on Twitter that they are actively conducting investigations at the moment.

The team in charge of investigations has been notified about this matter. It should be known that LOOP does not require individuals to access an online page to confirm their account credentials.

Loop is advising its patrons to inform them of any suspicious communication or links through the number 0709714444.

Furthermore, some other clients of Loop have reportedly received a doubtful text message. The message stated that it was a ticket number for a problem concerning their account. According to the bank, there was an error, and they have responded to Loop users.

Loop has not yet released an official statement regarding the reports or any advancement in the ongoing investigations.
