Encrypted DMs Now Available For Paying Twitter Users

Elon Musk

Twitter now allows users to send encrypted direct messages. This feature ensures that the messages are only stored on the user's device and not on the Twitter platform. This means that subscribers can communicate without worrying about their privacy and security.

You can only get encrypted DMs if you pay for Twitter Blue. This includes verified users and organizations with affiliations. Both the sender and receiver need to pay at least $8/month for the feature to work. If you don't pay for Twitter Blue, you won't be able to use encrypted DMs.

Here are some pictures of the new feature. You can see how it works in these images. The feature is easy to use, as you can see. We hope these screenshots help you understand the feature better. Feel free to ask us any questions about it. Thanks for checking out our blog section!

You can have encrypted messages in separate conversations. Only one-to-one messages have this feature right now. No group chats with encryption yet.

These messages have some limitations. They can't protect against "man-in-the-middle attacks." Twitter can compromise the conversation through legal processes. The sender and receiver wouldn't know. Messages and links are encrypted, but some metadata is not.

Here are some pictures of the feature. Have a look at these screenshots. We have some images that show the feature. These are some visuals of the feature in action. Check out these snapshots of the feature.

We hope that encrypted Direct Messages on Twitter will improve. We don’t think people should have to pay $8 a month for this feature. It's already free on WhatsApp, Messenger, Signal, and iMessage.
