Twitter has undergone a rebranding process, now called X, which aligns with Elon Musk's vision of crafting an all-encompassing application.

The billionaire in the tech industry, who assumed control of the platform in October 2022, swapped the well-known blue bird with a fresh logo on Monday, following the collaborative contribution of ideas from users throughout the weekend.

According to reports, he allegedly conveyed the news to the staff through electronic mail, declaring that Twitter is set to transform into X. Additionally, he redirected the website domain X.com to Twitter.com.

Linda Yaccarino, whom Mr Musk appointed as Twitter's CEO recently, affirmed the transition through a succession of tweets on Sunday night.

"It is an incredibly uncommon occurrence - in both personal and professional endeavors - to be granted another opportunity to create a significant impact," she penned.

Twitter had a major impact on society by revolutionizing our means of communication. However, X is set to take this progress even further, completely transforming the worldwide platform for public discourse.

On Monday 24 July, 2023, the iconic bird logo of Twitter was substituted with an X.

Ms Yaccarino referred to the app as the "next level of boundless engagement," encompassing sound, visuals, communication, financial transactions, and banking.

She expressed that there are no boundaries to the extent of this change. She further stated that X will serve as the foundation that can provide an abundance of anything one can imagine.

According to Mike Proulx, who works as a research director at Forrester, Twitter's decision will only serve to distance its initial user base, which was once deeply devoted to the platform.

From one perspective, it can be argued that he would be discarding a renowned brand. Conversely, he is indicating that a fresh era has begun for the formerly known Twitter and that the company is shifting its course towards a diverse user community.

In a recent post on Sunday, Mr. Musk shared his desire to alter Twitter's logo and conducted a poll among his extensive following to gauge their preference on switching the site's blue color scheme to a sleek black. He accompanied his post with an image displaying a stylized X set against a visually captivating outer space-themed black backdrop.

"And before long, we will say goodbye to the Twitter label and, over time, all the avian creatures," he stated.

During Mr. Musk's eventful period as the owner of Twitter since his purchase in October, the company has rebranded itself as X Corp, mirroring the billionaire's ambition to construct a revolutionary application similar to China's renowned WeChat.

In April, Twitter's iconic blue bird logo was momentarily substituted with Dogecoin's Shiba Inu dog, contributing to a significant increase in the cryptocurrency's market worth.

The company faced extensive backlash from users and marketing experts after Musk declared this month that Twitter will impose a restriction on the number of tweets different accounts can read daily.

The everyday restrictions proved beneficial to Threads, a competing service owned by Meta Platforms. Threads was able to achieve over 100 million registrations in just five days after its launch on the 5th of July.

Twitter has not provided any response or comment regarding the most recent modifications when requested.
