Elon Musk, the renowned CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has recently launched a fresh startup named xAI, focusing on artificial intelligence. This comes several years after his departure from OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT.

The proprietor of Twitter revealed the establishment of the fresh company through a tweet on Wednesday, stating that its objectives are centered around comprehending the actuality.

He refrained from divulging any additional information regarding the company's intentions, and the company's website likewise lacks substantial content aside from its goal of comprehending the authentic essence of the universe.

The new business, on the other hand, made it clear that it is a distinct organization from "X Corp" – which is the newly adopted name of the previously known Twitter company.

Nevertheless, the company asserts on its website that it will collaborate extensively with X Corp, Tesla, and enterprises under Mr Musk's ownership, along with other corporations, "in order to advance towards our ultimate goal."

Although xAI's website does not provide much information about its purpose, the only tweet from the emerging company indicates its intention to investigate the "essential mysteries" that remain unanswered in the universe.

The employees' names are also disclosed on the company's website, with Mr. Musk in charge and Dan Hendrycks, the director of the AI Safety Center, listed as an advisory member.

The company's staff consists entirely of male individuals who have had prior experience at esteemed organizations like DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research, Tesla, and the University of Toronto.

"On our website, xAI asserts that as a group, we have made valuable contributions to many extensively utilized techniques within our field."

The company highlighted the achievements of its staff, mentioning their involvement in the creation and advancement of noteworthy projects such as AlphaStar, AlphaCode, Inception, Minerva, GPT-3.5, and GPT-4.

Mr. Musk's latest undertaking is happening simultaneously with heavy investments in AI technology by various entities such as Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, as well as smaller domestic and international competitors, particularly in China.

The billionaire had previously joined forces to establish OpenAI in 2015, but parted ways with the company in 2018 due to concerns about conflicting interests with Tesla, which was developing its own artificial intelligence systems for the autopilot feature in its vehicles.

After the successful release of the widely used ChatGPT AI chatbot created by OpenAI, the revered entrepreneur Elon Musk has also indicated in various discussions that he intends to establish his own innovative artificial intelligence company.

Back in April, during a conversation with ex-Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, he revealed his intention to create what he referred to as a "maximum truth-seeking AI" known as "TruthGPT".

Subsequently, an xAI declaration was issued urging global attention towards mitigating the risks associated with AI. Notably, influential figures in the technology sector endorsed this appeal. Additionally, it has been reported that Mr. Musk procured a substantial number of GPU processors from Nvidia, presumably to operate a massive language model akin to ChatGPT.

The xAI crew intends to organize a Twitter Spaces conversation this upcoming Friday – an event where attendees can "get to know the crew and inquire about anything," as stated on the startup's website.
