Japan overtakes U.S. in inflation, but wage growth lags

TOKYO -- Japan experienced a faster growth in consumer prices compared to the United States last month, marking the first time in almost eight years. However, the sluggish increase in wages continues to hinder the Japanese government's efforts to overcome deflation.

According to the latest information provided by the Japanese government, the consumer price index in Japan, which takes into account fresh food prices, increased by 3.3% in June compared to the same period last year. This figure surpasses the 3% growth observed in the United States.
