channelnews : Meta To Release Its Own Version Of Twitter
During a recent meeting with the Meta team, Chris Cox, a highly regarded individual in Mark Zuckerberg's inner circle, revealed the plan in which the company plans to compete with Twitter.
Facebook developer is currently working on a prototype app, known as "Project 92" or "Barcelona," with the intention of defeating its competitor.
They plan to call it 'Threads' and rumors suggest that it will showcase an unbroken stream of words, comparable to Twitter, with options resembling the 'like' and 'retweet' buttons.
Meta is currently in talks with famous personalities and social media influencers to try out their new app. They are even trying to reach out to renowned personalities such as Oprah Winfrey and the Dalai Lama to create accounts, hoping that this will encourage more people to join the platform.
According to a social media expert named Matt Navarra, there have been discussions with a famous individual from Britain and a few well-known celebrities from the United States.
The release might happen at the conclusion of this month or the commencement of the following month, and they have been accepting new members for some time.
There will be a distinct application from Instagram that is anticipated to have a maximum limit of 500 characters on individual posts.
According to Navarra, the entire layout appears strikingly identical to Twitter.
It has been said that individuals can transfer their account details from Instagram, and this involves the option to retain their username and inform their followers to follow them on the new platform.
