China's Foreign Trade Up 5.8% To 13.32t Yuan

The foreign trade in China is growing steadily. The total imports and exports have increased by 5.8 percent year on year. This happened within the first four months of 2023. The data comes from the General Administration of Customs. The total trade value was measured at 13.32 trillion yuan, which is equal to $1.94 trillion.

China traded with Southeast Asian nations and the amount reached 2 trillion yuan from January to April. This is a 13.9% increase from last year. Southeast Asia is China's biggest trading partner and accounts for 15.7% of total foreign trade value.

For four months, China's trades with the European Union were 1.8 trillion yuan. It increased by 4.2% compared to last year. It's a higher increase than the first quarter's 2.2%.
