The guy who's the boss of Planet Doughnut and loved by loads of people in Britain is speaking up. He wants to clear things up about how you should eat his awesome handmade doughnuts.

Planet Doughnut started six years ago. Duncan and Samantha McGreggor created the business. It began in their garage in 2017. Now they have nine stores all over the country. They also offer delivery all across the United Kingdom.

Duncan is an expert on doughnuts. He knows over 100 flavours.

What's the key to a great doughnut experience? According to Duncan, it's all about freshness and frying.

The dough is super important for a doughnut. You need it to be crispy outside and fluffy inside with a nice golden color. We think frying is best for this. Baking isn't quite as good.

Remember those delicious hot doughnuts covered in sugar that you enjoyed at the beach? They were freshly fried and that's what made them so special. Our doughnuts are the same - fried, decorated and in the stores within hours. This guarantees that they are super fresh when you buy them.

Do you like traditional doughnuts or something more adventurous? Quality is key to finding the perfect one for you.

Duncan thinks quality is vital. Low-quality items are cheap. For example, six supermarket doughnuts cost very little.

Good ingredients make all doughnuts taste great, not just fancy ones. Quality is key, so any flavor is right. No wrong choices.

He suggests to follow the old advice. Start eating jammy food from the side with a hole. This will avoid any laundry problems.

Doughnuts and coffee are commonly found together in the US. But what does Duncan think is the perfect addition?

Coffee goes great with chocolatey treats like Nutella Brownies or sweet confections like Cadburys Caramel. It helps to counterbalance the sweetness with a slight bitterness.

An OG Glazed is simple, so you can have it with coffee or milkshake. It depends on how much you like sweet things.

Should you dunk or not? That's the question.

I think dunking is only for biscuits, not doughnuts, even though Dunkin' is a well-known doughnut brand.

Dunking your doughnut means it's no longer fresh. To avoid this, you can take steps.

Don't eat all your doughnuts right away! Keep them fresh by putting them in the freezer. Wrap them in cling film or put them in a plastic tub. When you're ready to eat, defrost them for 2 hours. You can try Planet Doughnut at their stores in Shrewsbury, Telford, Lichfield, Chester, St Helens, Widnes, Warrington and Newcastle-under-Lyme.

You can get fresh doughnuts from Planet Doughnut's nationwide home delivery service. Use their website, www.planetdoughnut.co.uk, to order from anywhere in the UK.
