Digital payments company Square experiences outage

The digital payments company Square encountered disruptions on various services on Thursday.

"We are currently facing problems with various Square services. We acknowledge the vital role our services play in your business operations, and we are actively striving to resolve the issues," the company shared on X, previously known as Twitter.

The company’s status page informed us that their "engineering team is currently engaged in efforts to identify the problem."

"The entire team is fully engaged and we will keep you informed once we receive any updates," stated the company on its status page.

Square refrained from providing any further remarks.

The website Downdetector, which tracks service disruptions, reported that Square experienced an outage on Thursday afternoon. The extent of the outage is unknown at this time.
