Elon Musk asserts that the US government had complete access to his private Twitter direct messages (DMs).

In a recent BBC interview, billionaire Elon Musk shared that his experience running Twitter has been quite arduous, although he also mentioned that the social media platform is finally starting to make some profit after being owned by him for a while now. Musk was spotted leaving the Phillip Burton Federal Building and United States Court House in San Francisco on January 24th, 2023.

During an interview, Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, revealed that the U.S. government can view users' private direct messages. He expressed his surprise and disbelief upon learning this fact.

During his interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News, Musk expressed his surprise upon learning that the government has the capability to access users' private conversations on his platform.

Musk, founder of X.AI, a company dealing with artificial intelligence, expressed his surprise when he learned that government agencies had complete access to all activities on Twitter. He stated this in an interview with Carlson scheduled to air on Tuesday, and his mind was blown away by this revelation. Prior to this, he had no knowledge of such an occurrence.

"Does that cover private messages between individuals?" Carlson inquired of Musk.

"Absolutely," Musk answered Carlson.

Musk aired his unease regarding the current surge in artificial intelligence, often named A.I., to Carlson. According to Musk, the technology could pose a threat of annihilating our society.

According to Musk, AI poses a greater threat to society than poorly designed airplanes, inadequate maintenance of production facilities, or faulty car manufacturing. This is due to the fact that, even if the likelihood of such an event is small, it is still significant enough to potentially cause catastrophic damage to our civilization.

The comments were made as Musk recently became the official owner of the social media platform. He has since gotten into another argument with National Public Radio, a news organization that operates independently.

Last week, NPR stated that they would stop using their Twitter accounts and not post on the site anymore. This was prompted by Twitter's decision to label some media outlets that receive public funding as "state-affiliated media".

After facing criticism for their previous decision, Twitter has now altered the label of “state-affiliated” to “government funded”.

The White House representative, Karine Jean-Pierre, disclosed that NPR operates autonomously as a news establishment. She verified that if one examined their news articles, it would become apparent that NPR is an unbiased news source.
