Several individuals on Twitter have recently been informed that their accounts will face limitations lasting for a duration of 72 hours.

Starting from June 27th, a number of Twitter users received an unusual automated message notifying them about a temporary limitation on their accounts. The message attributed this restriction to a breach of the platform's spam policy and informed the affected users that their access would be limited for a duration of 72 hours.

Everyone knows that when there are unexplained spikes in followers, unfollows, likes, or retweets, it can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the platform. However, the ongoing situation could be caused by a technical glitch.

Twitter has verified that a specialized group is presently involved in endeavors to address the problem.

Understanding Twitter's Spam Rules

Twitter's guidelines on spam are very clear: they do not tolerate any actions that disrupt conversations or aim to advertise commercial interests. This includes spreading spam that is driven by commercial motives, with the purpose of diverting attention or increasing traffic to certain accounts, websites, products, services, or initiatives.

Moreover, the policy unambiguously denounces fraudulent engagements that aim to artificially boost the popularity or activity of accounts or content.
